Approved Intake is the Total Number of Students Admitted to a particular college .

OR

It refers to the Number of seat total available in the college per Year.

OR

It is the number of students which can take admission into that college in a year.

For example the seats for a particular course in a college is 50, They cannot give admissions to more than 50 students. (hence the approved intake is 50).
