Hii Rahul,

For mechanical engineering last year's cutoff was 41,681.
For mechanical (production) engineering the cutoff was 70,862.

Though this time it would not be easy to predict the ranks on the basis previous cutoffs as the best score out of the January and April sessions of JEE Mains will be considered but I hope this would have helped you out if you need any other information regarding Thapar Universit, Patiala you can check out the following link-

The cutoff depends upon various factors including availability of seats, difficulty level of paper and number if students appeared for the exam. Although this year's cutoffs aren't released by the University yet but I could tell you previous year's cutoff of mechanical branch.
The cutoff for local students in 2018 was 100445 and for outsiders it was 37965.
