The selection criteria for the MS programme at AIIMS Patna involves appearing for INI CET and obtaining a valid score. After the exam, the INI CET cutoff is released by AIIMS Delhi.  Candidates who meet cutoff requirements need to register for INI CET counselling where they need to fill in choices of colleges in preference order. Once choices are filled, colleges are allotted to candidates. After the counselling process, the institute releases a final list of selected candidates after which students must get their documents verified and pay the fees.
