For the year 2017, the minimum GATE score required for call to test and interview varied on the basis of the B.E./B.Tech. degree of the candidate and the birth-category (General, OBC-NC, SC/ST). The cut-off was 600 for general candidates from PI/IE/PR qualifying disciplines, 650 for ME/MF, 675 for CE/CH/CS/EE/EE/IN, and 750 for all others.
