JEE Main 2026 Tools: Rank Predictor | College Predictor
Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's
Hi
Earlier i. e till 2020 , jee main used to be conducted Only twice i. e January and April session.
But now,
From 2021 , JEE main examination is conducted in 4 sessions i. e
*February session * March session *April session. * May session
No, it is not compulsory to attempt all the 4 sessions It totally depends upon students when it comes to how many sessions out of the 4 sessions they want to attempt. One is free to appear in all the four session or only in 3 sessions or only two sessions or even only one session , so it's entirely student's choice.
When a candidate appears in more then one sessions then the best performance out of the attempted sessions will be considered for admission i. e if you appear in all the 4 or 3 or 2 session of Jee mains, then your best score out of these attempts will be considered for your admission process.
From your question it seems,
Your are new to jee, so in case if you are planning to appear in jee main next year , I will suggest you to give all the 4 sessions of jee mains , so that even if you are not able to score good marks in one session, you can improve your score in the subsequent sessions .
In ideal / normal condition the exam will be conducted in February, March, April and May only but this year due to the pandemic. Jee main 2021 April and may session has not been conducted yet and it has been postponed and new dates will be announced 15 days prior to the exam
