States such as Odisha, Karnataka, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu are open states for BAMS counseling and allow admission into various BAMS colleges only through NEET scores after the Government of India decided in 2018 that admission to BAMS courses can only take place through NEET.
