It  was established in 1958 under the Government of India.  IIT Bombay is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).   Admission to B.Tech/B.E/BS/Dual Degree programmes is offered by IIT Bombay on the basis of scores JEE Advanced and candidates qualifying JEE Advanced will further have to register for JoSAA counselling.
