Average salary of a BSc. Forensic Science fresher is 3-4 lakhs per year, however after few years of experience, the salary might range from 6-8 lakhs.

Average salary of a paramedic in India is 1-2 lakhs per year.

But the demand of a paramedical staff is much more than that of a Forensic Scientist. Thus you have to think attentively and then take your decision.

DEAR

If you aim for excellence in any field, you’ll create ways for a career by yourself. Same is the case with Forensic Science in India.

Scope of forensics in India is shady because the job applications are not openly discussed as that of engineering and medicine. So it can get a bit confusing.

But, there is always scope when it comes to working in Forensic State Labs, and Central Forensic Labs, IB, CBI, State and Centre Police, Banks, Other Cooperate Institutes, Mental Health Facilities, Consultants, Private Detectives, and, of course, Teaching.

Edit: Most of the high paying and reputed jobs are only available after you crack competitive exams like your state’s PSC. Check the service commission websites for the vacancy of Forensic Science posts.

I think I’ve stated plenty of areas where there’s a need for forensics.

Is it good to do B.sc in Forensics? Well, if Forensics interest you and you wish you pursue a career in this field, then going the Bachelor’s way is the right way!

Edit: However, if you’re not 100% certain, then go for other sciences. People from pure science background are usually eligible for Masters and job positions so it's not a loss. [Keep yourself updated. This eligibility criteria might change.

GOOD LUCK..

hi,

see forensic science involves with the courses of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and psychology, the course is much harder than diploma in  paramedical course, however if you see through the career options or job prospect of view in india the number of recruitment comes more for paramedical degree holders than forensic scince, paramedical staff may work as a doctors assistant, in railway hospitals, lab technicians etc. however after studying forensic many of the candidates go for higher study to become a scientist or lecturer, so you ned to decide the course as per your interest and choice.
