It depends on the branch that you are getting in these colleges. IIIT Guwahati is great college if you are getting Computer Science here. The Placements are great and teachers and study and classes are all great for computer science students. But if you are getting any other branch other than CSE or IT in IIIT then go for College of Engineering Pune because the overall result and review of COE pune is very good.

COEP is one of the oldest colleges in the country and is well estabilished IIIT Guwahati is a new institute which is still developing. Both these colleges have there respective advantages as well as disadvantages and it is upto you as to which one you wish to choose according to your preference and what you are getting at the two colleges.
