HELLO,

With 55 percentile in CET under the MS category , chances in top Mumbai colleges are minimal. However, you can still get admission in some private or new colleges in the region.

Your chances of admission depends on a few important factors:-

1.A 55 percentile in MH CET is considered on the lower side as most top and mid tier Mumbai colleges are generally close at much higher percentiles

2.As a MS candidate , you may be eligible for a significant number of seats reserved for students in government and aided institutions

3.With this 55 percentile you have better chances in lesser know private or newly established engineering colleges in the Mumbai region because chances in top government and reputed private colleges are very low

4.You can look for colleges in nearby regions like Navi Mumbai , Thane , Palghar where cutoffs are slightly lower

5.Try through management quota or institute level seats if you are particular about studying in Mumbai

You can use this MHT CET college predictor by careers360 to get college as per your rank :-

Hope this Helps!

Hello Aspirant,

Even if you have attained a 55 percentile in MHT-CET as a Maharashtra State (MS) candidate, it would be next to impossible for you to get admission in the top colleges of Mumbai as the cut-offs would be a lot higher. However, you can still be allocated seats in some unidentified self/financed/private colleges in Mumbai/suburban regions, depending on your category, preference for branch allocation, and the availability of the courses in the later rounds (CAP Round 2 or 3 or Institute level seats). It is also advisable to keep backup options in adjoining districts.

With 55 percentile in CET is quite low. In Mumbai University colleges (MMS/MBA), cutoff for good colleges is 90–99 percentile.

You may get admission in:

  • Tier-3 private management colleges under MU.
  • Self-financed institutes with higher intake.

Thank you and all the best!

With 55 percentile in the Maharashtra CET as an MS (Minority/Management/Other State) student, getting admission in top government colleges in Mumbai is unlikely, since most require 90+ percentile for general seats. However, private engineering colleges and some minority or management quota seats may still be available, though choices will be limited. Options include colleges like Thakur College, Rizvi College, or Vidyalankar Institute, but the cutoff and fees vary widely. You should apply broadly and also consider nearby cities for more options.
