Both colleges are among the top engineering colleges in India. In my opinion you should go for Wireless Communications and Networks in IIT Kharagpur rather than choosing VLSI in NIT Tiruchirappalli.

Wireless Communications and Networks is an emerging branch with a great scope coming in nearby future. So, I'll suggest you to go for it in IIT Kharagpur.
