The online National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning(NPTEL) training program is provided by Swayam, a free online education portal initiated by the Government of India. 

This online training is scheduled for a period of twelve weeks in this elective program for the postgraduate level students of the fields of humanities and social sciences, and English Studies.

The course instructor for this online program is Prof. Aysha Iqbal Viswamohan faculty of film studies, drama, and popular culture at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. The learners during the course of study in this program will develop a comprehensive understanding of the literary significance of American literature. 

The ‘American Literature & Culture’ certification course helps students get an E-certificate that can be downloaded and credit points at the end of this All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) approved course.

Literature and Life Certification are designed and structured in such a way that it helps learners make sense of their own lives through the prism of literature and get a better understanding of the relation of literature to life.

A selection of essays, poems, plays, and short stories from British, American, and Indian literature will be examined in Literature and Life Classes in order to understand and appreciate the complex but fragile human relationships at various levels, including the individual, family, society, business, politics, etc.

Elements of Literature and Creative Communication Certification is ideal for those who are interested in tasting the nectar of literature. Because literature is directly related to life and keeping that broad vision in mind makes students aware of the finer sensibilities of human existence.

Elements of Literature and Creative Communication Classes intend to teach the students by introducing them to literature, which represents profound and beautiful expressions of mankind, we hope to help them better comprehend and enjoy life. It includes carefully chosen readings of drama, fiction, and poetry. 

All students get an Elements of Literature and Creative Communication Certification from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) under the Swayam Initiative by the Government of India. 

The Trauma and Literature certification course is a 12-week duration programme. The prerequisite for this certification course is a BA in English Literature or Cultural Studies. This certification covers a comprehensive curriculum that includes emergent critical theories in the field of trauma studies and memory studies, Toba Tek Singh, Cold Meat, and The Other Side of Silence.

The Trauma and Literature certification by NPTEL provides in-depth knowledge of the possibilities that generate alternate histories through the retelling of events. The students will also explore the cultural and psychological impact of trauma in literature and society. The course will select texts from different literary periods, genres and traditions for a detailed study.

The Twentieth Century American Drama certification course is a 12-week duration programme. The certification course is designed for any individual who is interested in learning American Drama. There are no prerequisites for this course. The certification covers a comprehensive curriculum that includes The Emperor Jones by Eugene O’Neill. 

The Twentieth Century American Drama certification by NPTEL provides the students with in-depth knowledge of the genre's foundation and the period. The Indian Fiction in English certification course duration is 12 weeks. Indian Poetry in English Classes aims to delve into the oceanic aesthetic of Indian poetry and spread its waves among poetry enthusiasts. The course was created with the learners' desire to comprehend in mind the journey of Indian English poetry, and how it began and continues to make its presence felt, struggling at times and overcoming hurdles while yet succeeding, in mind.

The Gender and Literature certification course explores gender theory within literary contexts. Designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students of English and Cultural Studies, this course delves into the construction and transformation of gendered classifications such as masculinity and femininity through selected literary texts and cultural analysis.

The Gender and Literature certification by Swayam covers key topics in Humanities and Social Sciences and English Studies. It provides students with a critical framework to analyze the intricate connections between gender dynamics and literary representation, enriching their academic journey and fostering deeper insights into gender issues within literature and society.

The Literary Theory and Literary Criticism certification course duration is 8 weeks. The course provides a comprehensive curriculum that covers the major trends in literary criticism and literary theory. With the industry experts support students gain in-depth knowledge in various domains from classical times to recent trends.

The course is aimed towards postgraduate English literature students from any college or university. The robust course syllabus involves various crucial literary texts that emerged in the 1980s by significant writers such as Raja Rao, Chinua Achebe, Joseph Conrad, Jhumpa Lahiri and some literary critics.

Furthermore, the Postcolonial Literature certification falls under the English studies and Humanities and Social Sciences categories. The elective course will run for four weeks and help you navigate some complex concepts and theories that are a part of postcolonial literature. Also, the programme is curated by IIT Kanpur and is delivered by its department of English Literature.

At the end of the Postcolonial Literature certification course, you will have a thorough understanding of postcolonial studies and the rich texts that left their literary imprints on the history of world literature.

The Victorian Gothic Short Story certification course is a 4-week duration programme. The certification course covers an extensive curriculum that includes the specialised study of the Victorian Short Story concerning the Gothic mode. The intended audience for this course is undergraduate and postgraduate students of English Literature. 

The Victorian Gothic Short Story certification by NPTEL provides students with in-depth knowledge of Victorian Short Story and Charles Dickens, The Haunted Signal Man (1866).
