Hello.
Here are some golden tips which are trifurcated for the purpose to have a structured or much easier way to relate:
HABITUAL TIPS
ANALYSING TIPS
PSYCHOLOGICAL or SMART TIPS.
The revision of theory every week should be a habit.
Solving a lot of problems should be a habit.
Taking at least 1 hour for a workout or physical activity or outdoor games should be a habit.
Solving test series is a very good habit.
Weekly analysis of yourself that "how deep in water you are?" should be a very good habit so that you could know the area where you should give more attention.
Be Self-motivated and in case if you lose motivation then learn the thing that attracts you towards an IIT.
Make yourself ready to finish the exam in the allotted time so attempting a self-test with a similar exam environment is a good habit.
Analyze the complete pattern of the exam with the help of previous year question papers and mock test papers that would help you to understand what should be your approach to learn a topic, how deep questions you need to solve, and what is the weightage of any particular topic. The provided link may help you for better analysis: JEE mains paper analysis
Solve all previous year question papers, after a complete analysis of exam papers, give your major attention to high weighted units or topics. This link may help to find previous year question papers: JEE Mains previous year question papers
During the preparation, most of the students face high peer pressure, and also sometimes they just waste their entire time thinking that “a lot of topics I have to complete”, “How should I start” etc. In that scenario consult with your mentor and share your problem.
As this exam is not just for hard work, it’s all about smart work as well. So try to find a smarter way to solve questions that takes less time in comparison to traditional methods.
In case of doubting a question, try to clear it ASAP. Don't leave it for later as it may destroy your fresh understanding of the concept.
Do not waste your entire time on the doubtful question, as time is limited in the case of preparation so mark that question and solve the rest of the problems.
While attempting a real exam or mock test, put your efforts first on those questions which you can solve with surety as negative marking may deduct your score.
Always refer to the best books, provided link may help you to know the name of the best books: Best books for JEE mains
Going forward with these tips, one can easily crack any exam, so always remember the HAS rule (Habit Analyse Smartly), so it says make habits, take analysis, and move forward with a smartness.
Major points to remember for JEE mains 2021 :
According to an analysis of past year cut-off, one must target at least 90 percentile to crack the exam, there might be some variations as per the fluctuations.
Analyze the pattern of the exam and find out the weightage of topics and then prepare with important topics.
In the beginning stick with the syllabus, after having the entire syllabus on your fingertips then increase the level of your preparation.
Refer only recommended books which are best for JEE Mains preparation these include: NCERT ( for the beginning), HC Verma for physics ( increasing level), RC Mukherjee for physical chemistry ( increasing level), organic chemistry OP Tandon (increasing level), objective mathematics by RD Sharma (increasing level) and refer the article through given link to know all book details: JEE mains 2021 books
You can also arrange some study material of any coaching institutes that may help you to solve some predicted questions for the JEE Mains exam.
Always study with the guidance of someone so that you can know the right path whether you're going right or not, for that you can also join a coaching institute.
If you are preparing with self-study then you can join an online mock test series that will help you to know your preparation level, and if you are preparing under the guidance of any coaching institute then give your test honestly with better preparation.
Complete your entire syllabus at least 3 months before the exam and give this time to solve past year exam papers and for a short revision of concepts.
Manage your time during your mock test, always try to finish the exam before the final bell rings that would help in the real exam to complete it earlier or within the time.
Last-minute tips :
Before two or three days of the exam write all the formulas or all important concepts of the subjects on a single paper and stick it over your wall and take a look over it maximum time so that you do not forget these concepts at the time of the final exam.
Before one day of the final exam try to decrease your study stress as you usually take because on the last day you can't hit the target, the preparation you have done will reflect in the final exam.
Do not lose your confidence, believe in yourself, and drink water as much as you can to mick out your nervousness.
Take proper sleep so that your mind could work freshly at the time of the exam and you could make sensible decisions during your exam.
After exams do not discuss your paper with anyone and leave everything over god, your hard work will reflect in your results.
Best of luck.
hi,
Students, who are seeking answers for How to prepare for JEE Mains, can get an insight into the JEE Mains paper with the help of paper analysis. This will also give them JEE Main Preparation Tips that will help them prepare in a significant manner.
The preparation tips for JEE Mains are very helpful for students preparing for IIT JEE Mains. All three subjects are very important and students should give them equal importance. Before beginning their preparation, they should refer the syllabus and make a strategy to prepare them in a comprehensive way. Here are some tips that will help students prepare all the three subjects equally.
Along with some books such as Concepts of Physics by HC Verma, you should also refer NCERT books. This will help you understand the concepts in a better way. As it is a conceptual subject, you should understand the basic concepts thoroughly that will make the problem solving easier. After studying a particular topic, ensure that you solve the related problems on the same day. This will make your concepts clear and help you remember them in a better way.
Chemistry is a combination of concepts, theory, problems and chemical equations. Refer some good books that will help you understand the subject better. While studying a topic, you can always mark the important points so that you can refer them in future for revision purpose. You should also solve the problems related to the concepts and practice the chemical equations to remember them in a best possible manner.
It is the most important subject and you can only be thorough in all the topics when you keep practising the problems. When you solve the problems continuously you can create your own shortcuts and relate different topics. This will help you save time during the JEE Mains exam.
These are some of the subject wise tips for the students who are going to appear for JEE Mains. You should make a time- table and allocate time for all the subjects. You can also allocate more time for the topics in which you are weaker. This will help you finish studying the syllabus within the timeline and give you time for revision.
Greetings,
Your query requires a comprehensive answer so I will try my best in that regard.
Firstly, the best branch is always the one which interests you the most because then only you would work harder to excel in it and get a great job or something. Nevertheless, as per current trends Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) are the two most sough after branches because computers and technology is developing at an unprecedented rate with no signs of slowing down as of now which positively means more opportunities in the field (cyber security, app development, etc.)
other than those, there are some core Engineering branches like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. which are and will always be useful for society and so even when the job opportunities and demand is low it will probably never fall below average.
Keep in mind these factors while choosing a branch:
- Your area of interest
- Your career goals and strategy
- Availability of college
- Branch reputation
By branch reputation I mean there are some branches of Engineering which people opt for when they have no choice left or what they plan on doing anything else after engineering, like Ocean Engineering, Sound Engineering, etc. they are not available everywhere and are only suited for a niche field of employment and therefore not versatile.
As for colleges, the rankings of best IIT's change every year but some of the top ones always do good and are readily sought after, like:
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Delhi
- IIT Madras
- IIT Kharagpur
- IIT Kanpur
as a general trend, people usually go for IIT's that are old (established long ago) because that factor vouches for their reputation and accolades to some degree.
if you wish to get into an IIT, you will have to appear for IIT JEE Mains, clear that with a minimum cut off rank and then appear for IIT JEE Advanced, aside from that you will also have to get good grades in your class 12th boards or any 10+2 equivalent examination that you give (top 20 percentile in your exam)
It is a tough field with lots of competition, especially in India. If you do plan to go for it then start preparing early and work on o[your foundations for Math, Physics and Chemistry.
Best of luck for the future.
Hi
First of all admission in IIT is provided through JEE advanced examination which is conducted only once in a year.
But yes to be eligible for JEE advanced you need to first qualify JEE mains which will be conducted 4 times in a year.
JEE mains 2021 will be conducted in four sessions i. e
*February session * March session *April session. * May session
Students have the option to apply for one Session or more than one Session i. e 2 or 3 or all the 4 sessions together and they will have to pay the fee accordingly . When they apply for only one session then they always have the opportunity to apply for rest of the sessions later on as application Window will be reopened for rest of the session
Also, One is free to appear in all the four session or only in 3 sessions or only two sessions or even only one session , so it's entirely student's choice.
When a candidate appears in more then one sessions then the best performance out of the attempted sessions will be considered for admission i. e if you appear in all the 4 or 3 or 2 session of Jee mains, then your best score out of these attempts will be considered for your admission process .
I will suggest you to give all the sessions of jee mains , so that even if you are not able to score good marks in February session, you will get an idea of the paper pattern and what kind of questions are asked and you will get to know about your weak areas and then you can work on them and can score good marks in jee mains other sessions. Good luck for your jee preparation.
