pls tell me sir, as per present situations whether we choose best iit institute or best branch which are best iits or which branch is best as per today's trend& keeping in future also sir
Greetings,
Your query requires a comprehensive answer so I will try my best in that regard.
Firstly, the best branch is always the one which interests you the most because then only you would work harder to excel in it and get a great job or something. Nevertheless, as per current trends Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) are the two most sough after branches because computers and technology is developing at an unprecedented rate with no signs of slowing down as of now which positively means more opportunities in the field (cyber security, app development, etc.)
other than those, there are some core Engineering branches like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. which are and will always be useful for society and so even when the job opportunities and demand is low it will probably never fall below average.
Keep in mind these factors while choosing a branch:
- Your area of interest
- Your career goals and strategy
- Availability of college
- Branch reputation
By branch reputation I mean there are some branches of Engineering which people opt for when they have no choice left or what they plan on doing anything else after engineering, like Ocean Engineering, Sound Engineering, etc. they are not available everywhere and are only suited for a niche field of employment and therefore not versatile.
As for colleges, the rankings of best IIT's change every year but some of the top ones always do good and are readily sought after, like:
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Delhi
- IIT Madras
- IIT Kharagpur
- IIT Kanpur
as a general trend, people usually go for IIT's that are old (established long ago) because that factor vouches for their reputation and accolades to some degree.
if you wish to get into an IIT, you will have to appear for IIT JEE Mains, clear that with a minimum cut off rank and then appear for IIT JEE Advanced, aside from that you will also have to get good grades in your class 12th boards or any 10+2 equivalent examination that you give (top 20 percentile in your exam)
It is a tough field with lots of competition, especially in India. If you do plan to go for it then start preparing early and work on o[your foundations for Math, Physics and Chemistry.
Best of luck for the future.
