Hello,
Applying for a nursing course in 2025 can be a meaningful step toward a stable and respected career in healthcare. As Nursing is a highly respected profession with increasing opportunities in both the government and private sectors. There are different nursing programs available in India such as BSc Nursing, GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery), and ANM (Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery). Among these, BSc Nursing is one of the most preferred options among students who have studied the Science stream .For BSc Nursing, candidates usually need to pass Class 12 with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as core subjects. Most institutes require a minimum of 45%–50% marks in the 12th board exams. Some relaxation in marks may be available for reserved category candidates ( OBC, ST,SC) depending on the institution.
Admission in BSc Nursing is done either through entrance exams or direct merit-based selection. Top colleges like AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, and AFMC may accept NEET scores or conduct their own entrance tests. And in many states conduct their own state-level nursing entrance exams, and some private colleges also offer admission through their own process.
So it's better to check admission rules because they might change every year. Most entrance exam applications open between March and June, and the exams are usually held between May to July. Counseling and final admissions take place after result declare. To join GNM, most colleges expect you to finish Class 12, often with a science background. ANM may accept students from Class 10 or 12, depending on the state. Make sure to keep all necessary documents ready like marksheets of class 10 and 12 , passport-size photos, and category certificates (if applicable) as these are usually required during the admission process or counselling.
