Most of the undergraduate courses in University of Calcutta accepts students on the basis of qualifying degree. For B.Sc. the admission is based on the 10+2 marks. The admission in B.Sc. is merit based. There are some constraints in marks for some of the BSC (Hons) courses which got to be clarified beforehand like minimum 50% marks in chemistry for food and nutrition course and likewise.

you cannot directly study in calcutta university for bsc courses. how ever calcutta university has affiliated many colleges where you can apply for bsc courses. there is no entrance examination. selection will be on your ssc, hsc marks. the some reputed colleges are ashutosh college, bethun college, schotish church college, st pauls college, joypuria college. etc
