Hi
It solely depends upon the degree you are pursuing that you would get from the nits. Jee mains is only for the candidates who wants to pursue ug courses in btech while gate exam allows you to get into postgraduate programs offered in these nits or iits like mtech etc.
A few nits like Trichy etc also offer courses in mba whose admissions take place through ranks in the cat exam.
Hence it depends upon your eligibility and interest in pursuing a certain degree in any of the nits.

Hello,

To get admission in NIT Raipur or any other NIT you need to appear for your JEE Main exams.
NIT accepts only the JEE Main score and no other exam not even JEE Advance.
In order to get in NITs you have to crack the JEE Main exam with a valid score and then appear for JOSSA counseling and if you'll make the cutoff you'll be selected for NIT.
