see you can apply for m.tech courses only while you are in final year of studies, for psu job this is also same, cause while document verification you have to submit the marksheet and pass certificates. this is the first time of gate exam where third year candidates are allowed to appear in gate, so there is still confusion how many opportunities would be there for third year students. some of the companies like texas instruments, siemens, offers internship to students which would later make as job offer based on their performance. since you have valid gate score you would get preference over non gate candidates.

gate score is valid for three years, so based on this score you may get admission in iits or nits in next year, when your b.tech course would complete.
