Hello Siddhant,

You should plan your studies subject & topic wise, Make proper time table so that you can complete your syllabus on time and can get a proper time for revision. You should give importance to the topics which carry more weight age in the exam.

Here are some preparation tips which can be helpful for you in Exam preparation.

Work on a Time Table: After carefully checking the syllabus of the exam towards creating a perfect timetable which will fit your schedule while leaving enough time to prepare for the examination within the days left.

Divide & Segregate the Exam Syllabus: The topics from the Exam syllabus must be divided into easy, tough and very tough so that preparation of the exam is made accordingly.

Make your Basic Concepts Strong: While it is essential to study the topics mentioned in the official syllabus, it is also advised to study the basic concepts well first. By knowing the basic concepts of the units involved in the examination, you will be able to understand each topics well and in depth. This will result in a greater understanding of the topics and will make it simpler for you to study complicated concepts present in the syllabus.

Improve your Weak Points: Stressed over some topics or formulas which you just cannot seem to understand? Give more time and focus on these topics to improve it. Keep small notes and constantly revise those concepts which has been hard to understand. By constantly studying the topics you find difficult.

Attempt Mock Test and Solve Sample Papers : Mock tests will give you an almost real experience of how the examination will be. By solving mock tests, you will be able to work on time management while at the same time understanding the question paper pattern.

Hello,.

Step 1 Complete your syllabus

First step is to study and understand the entire course at least once. If there are chapters you have not done yet, study them at least once so that they are well versed with the full syllabus. You may not do any entrance specific study in the first pass, just understanding the concepts is enough. You can start with important chapters for JEE Main.

Ideally you should be able to complete this step before December ends.

Step 2  Revise Your Syllabus

This is the trickiest and the most important part. Spend the time that you are left with after going to school or coaching classes as follows. Pick a chapter (or more if you have more time) from each subject. Revise the basic concepts and learn all formulae and tricks from your notes (or textbook). Divide the time left after basic revision in half and devote to practice entrance level and board level questions.

Chapters can be picked up on the basis of their importance in the exam and more time can be devoted to more important chapters than others.

Do you find chapter reading difficult? Another approach is to start solving questions straight away and look back into your notes or textbook if you get stuck. This usually saves time.

In roughly one month a complete revision of the syllabus can be done. Do not worry if it takes you more time but you can take at most two months to complete this.

Also focus on getting your doubts resolved at the earliest so that your revision is fool proof.

Step 3 Practice full length papers

After a full revision is done solving full length papers of previous year and specially prepared mock papers is next important step. This should be done for both Board Exams as well as entrance exam. Start with solving one paper of each. Sit with a stop watch and try to replicate the test environment by avoiding any distractions in the paper.

Once the paper is complete evaluate it with the answer key. Note down key concept areas where you faced difficulty. From the solutions provided along with the answer key, note down tricks to solve such questions.

Take the next few hours (it is fine if it is a day or two) to get well versed with all the questions and concepts you got wrong on the test paper. After that take up another mock or previous year paper and repeat the process.

If you are able do about 10 such papers, you should feel confident about any exam.

Step 4  Preparing during Board Exams

Usually students leave out entrance preparation a few days before Board Exams start and do not resume before the exams are over. However, there is no need to do such a thing. A lot of time is provided between each paper in the Board Exams date sheet and with prior preparation this time is usually more than enough. You can take a mock or previous year paper and solve the section of just the same subject as the upcoming exam. Since this section will be smaller than full length paper you will need less time to complete it.

Step 5  Preparing after the Board Exams are over

There is usually not much time between the last Board Exam and the JEE main paper but if you have prepared seriously starting December this is more than enough.

In this time you should revise any important chapter which you find difficult, refer to all the notes you prepared during your preparation and solve at least 2 full length papers.

4 months are more than enough for even an average student to crack the JEE Main. However, consistent preparation is the key.

Hope it helps
