It's really difficult to tell but 2014 placements records say? that avg package is 4.2 lpa. So better if you have an interest in civil branch try some other? colleges like COEP which is also good for civil engineering.

You can join Indian Meteorological Department by clearing there recruitment Exam.
You can join various Engineering college as Assistant professor.
You can go for Ph.D. program in any IIT by clearing GATE exams.
You can also join any private organization that work for seismicity monitor testing.
Moreover, Private construction companies also hire Earthquake engineer to study seismological observations of project location in surveying stage.
Even Your own institute is currently running various project successfully i.e. earthquake seismological monitor, deployment of accelerometer in Himalayan region. You can also join in this Research and Development Team.
