Government medical colleges in India have low fees only arouns 1,00,000 per annum excluding the hostel and mess fees. In total there are around 260-270 government medical MBBS colleges in India giving seats to approx 41,727 seats. Also there are 9 AIIMS institutes providing approx 800 seats.
