Well if you look at last year's cutoffs which can be relied as an indicator, Pilani had a cutoff of 306 for Chemical engg, Goa had something like 276 while Hyd had something like 272 marks. So something on those lines as cutoffs can never be accurately predicted. It all depends upon the number of applicants and the popularity of the branch. You can take a look at past cutoffs for some years by clicking here

From my point of view, experience and prediction I believe that a score around 350 is atleast you need to get into BITS Pilani campus and above will help you to achieve your branch.

Hope you liked the answer and best of luck for ahead :)

Thank you.

See Firstly If you are desperate for IIT than surely go for a year drop and I will too recommend you not go kota, because I have seen people performing less than of their calibre, instead you can take Distance learning Program (DLP) or DPP of coaching classes and prepare on your own and coaching class in your city. Constantly clear your doubts get your basics clear and that's all. Spend most of your time solving variety problems..
Best of luck for ahead :-)
Thank you.

Well , what do you think are the major reasons for their poor performance ? Is it homesickness , food, water and other facilities ? Few of my friends are suggesting Resonance Kota , as it is best for droppers batch? Why or why not would you agree ? Please answer.

On a personal note I will say that Kota as everything else has 2 sides, Good and Bad, good in sense that if you are getting good marks from starting constantly than interest will be taken in you but if you are not securing good marks than no will ask you about the same, they are just concerned with those who score and give them a rank to publish in their Ads.
Secondarily Kota has many side effects too, students get addicted to drinking, smoking, drugs, etc...
Their no one will be there to guide you so once you go on a wrong track no will get you on the right one, but here you have parents they have a constant watch on you, they guide you whereever you want and can help you in every way. Plus nowadays due to DLP and DPP there is no difference between studying in Kota and studying by yourself, so I would recommend to stay home and study.

@bluestar - Please dont take a drop unless you are really sure and your scores are good enough this year. From the statistics from past years, I havent seen even 10% of drop students succeed as envisaged. Rather than waste one year, it is advisable to join a decent college and put all energies into getting a high CGPA there. Placements are good in universities like VIT, SRM, BITS and even other universities. An IIT or an NIT brand is up to a certain time and it wont work if the students there also dont work to get good CGPA. So my advice is to not go for a drop. It seems very easy that you will work very hard this year and crack it ; just hasnt happended with a lot of similarly inclined people. All the best

@Prabhavati mam, i will consider every factor and then i will decide , i am not getting any decent colleges right now , therefore i am considering drop. Maybe its true that less than 10% droppers succeed , so why can't i be one of them . I will surely work harder(& smarter) as i am determined to get IIT/NIT college next year . I am willing to take the risk . Anyways , Thanks for ur advice.
