The seats are reserved in engineering colleges in various factors such as category , state quota , gender ,etc. Likewise some college has reservation for the students coming from other states so in that you get the preference for admission in that particular Institute according to your rank and the number of students applied on that particular seat. Though you have a good other state rank so you can get admission in good college.
