Hello,
It is quite obvious that faculties in colleges across India concentrate on JEE Main during class 12. The key is that this exam is like the mother of all other state level exams. One who aims higher, will be able to attend exams with lower difficulty with ease.
MHT CET contains 80% of class 12 syllabus. For this, initially you need to finish your NCERT. And in your case specifically, you can attend the JEE Classes in your institute and then solve sample papers for MHT CET. Because the syllabus is same but the question asking pattern is different.
It is possible to attain good rank in any exam with proper preparation for 1 year. Also I suggest you should enroll yourself for JEE Main also, because it will give you more opportunities and experience.
