Hey, 

Do attend all the phases of the counselling of both mains and VIT. As per past cut offs, you'd be placed in colleges like NIT Silchar, NIT Punjab with branches like chemical engineering/bio technology. Few NITs offer change in the branch for merit students at the end of the 2nd semester in B.Tech. 

Choose carefully.
