A student can appear twice for the SCB exam, once in the year of completing the 12th grade and second time in year following that.

However there are other ways as well to take admission in IISERs. You can appear for KVPY (if you fulfill the eligibility criteria) and if you are able clear it, you have eligible to apply for IISERs.

You can go to IISER  through three channels.The three channels or modes are

1)KVPY

2)JEE Advanced

3)SCB

Each channel has different eligibility.For the year 2021 the eligibility notification is not yet announced but it will be same.You can read here the IISER 2020 eligibility details
