I got CSE at both IIIT Dharwad and Thapar Patiala, so I did some digging before deciding.

IIIT Dharwad CSE – Placements are growing, avg package around 10 LPA, highest 61 LPA, but only ~66% placed so far. It’s still a new campus so infra & alumni network are limited, but has potential.

Thapar CSE – Much more established. Avg package 16-17 LPA, top offers 56-123 LPA. Strong recruiter list like Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte. Better exposure, infra & brand value.

Honestly, if you want safer placements & brand recognition, Thapar is the better bet. If you’re okay with some risk for the sake of being part of a growing IIIT culture, Dharwad is an option. Personally, I’d lean Thapar.

IIIT Dharwad CSE offers the advantage of being a government institute with national recognition, lower fees, and long-term credibility, though it’s relatively new with a smaller alumni base. Thapar Patiala has steady placements; IIT Dharwad is a fast- growing Tech hub.

Thapar Patiala is a well-established Institute with strong faculty,good campus facilities and consistently good placements.It has a proven track record of placing most students in reputed companies with solid average and good top packages.

IIIT, Dharwad is newer and still buliding its placement reputation,But it's rapidly growing already attracting Top tech companies like Google,Amazon.Though its placement record is not yet as consistent as Thapar's.But their focus on research and technology makes it asn exciting place who wants to be a part of dynamic, evolving Institute.

If you want a safer option with proven and steady placement records,go for Thapar Patiala.But if you're excited about being part of a rapidly growing institute,IIIT, Dharwad is aslo a great choice.
