The criteria for calculation of best four subjects is as follows for admission to BA Economics (Hons) in DU admission

• Minimum of 60% marks or more in one Language from List A1, must include Mathematics and combination of best two other elective subjects from Lists A and B.

So yes, it is mandatory to include Mathematics percentage for the calculation of best four.
