Yes if this is your 1st or 2nd successive attempt of jee mains then you can drop and appear for it next year also as per the eligibility criteria of jee mains.

Dropping a year is not the only solution to get admission into good college.

You should try at your best to perform good in jee mains this year and you should also try for other engineering entrance exams like VITEEE,SRMJEEE,BITSAT,COMEDK,MHTCET,WBJEE,UPSEE..and many more.

Jee mains is not the only way through which you can build your career.Rest depends on your interest!!
