Yes dear , when the counselling is carried out according to WBJEE rank most of the time the General Merit Rank is considered , but your tfw rank is also considered while counselling. If you think your GMR is not that satisfactory then you can wait till the upcoming counselling rounds and I think in the subsequent counselling rounds you can get admission in some private institutions , you can get your desired stream there.
