Admission to B.Des programme is done on the basis of Design Aptitude Test (SEED) conducted by the university.

You must fulfill the Eligibility Criteria to appear for the entrance exam and for admissions.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Eligibility Criteria is candidate should have passed class 12th from any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts) or have completed 10+3 diploma which should be approved by State Board of Technical Education and must have scored 50% minimum aggregate marks in the final examination to be eligible for admission to the B.Des programme.

Candidate appearing for the final exam of 10+2 or 10+3 diploma program can also apply for admissions but results of such final year appearing candidates must be declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for admission.

Desirable Eligibility Criteria is candidate should have Creative Aptitude and skills which is required to pursue the Design course. Also, this profession demands adaptability to the situation.

If any candidate is having the relevant portfolio, he/she would be preferred.

Admission Procedure

Candidates have to appear for Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) for admission. Without a valid SEED score, no candidate would be allowed for admission to Symbiosis Institute of Design.

Details about the SEED exam

The exam is held on the first Saturday of May of the admission year. It is an aptitude test through which candidates are examined about color, geometry, visual observations, etc.

Multiple Choice Questions would be asked in the exam. Questions will be asked about

color, geometry, visual observations, creative thinking abilities, general design awareness, awareness of Indian culture, craft and traditions etc.

There would be a total of 150 questions and the exam will be of 150 marks.

Marking Scheme - There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the exam.

The question paper will help you to have an idea about the types of questions asked in the exam, difficulty level of the exam and to prepare well for the exam.

Fashion Design is a decent course and after completion of the course students can pursue their career as a fashion designer, stylist, costume designers, etc

For admission in B. Des Program in Symbiosis, you must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks obtained in the final examination to be eligible for the above-mentioned program.

All Indian students are required to take the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), which will be held on 1st Saturday of May of the admission year. No candidate is entitled to seek admission to Symbiosis without a valid SEED score.
