Osmania University of Technology, offers a four year B.Tech course in Food Processing Technology (FPT).Candidates should have completed a 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as options. The admission is based on performance at EAMCET.

In B.Tech the subjects covered are mainly, Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry coupled with English and Computer Science.

Subjects like Preservation and Packaging, Fibre, Pulp, Sugar Technology and Mineral Technology, add along in the later semesters.

Career prospects surely are very bright as the job of a food technologist not only involves improving the quality of food stuff through proper packaging and preservation but also maintaining quality and hygiene.

Qualified food technologists are always in demand in packaging units, hatcheries ,diaries, hotels, hospitals and with multinationals.

Food Corporation of India, one of the largest Public Sector Undertaking also encourages technologists to look into purchase, distribution and storage of food grains.

One can also look forward to a career with central and state government food processing units as development officers, research scientist and supervisors. Global organisations like WHO and UNICEF also constantly look to work with food technologists.

If youre talking about core jobs,NO.

(Maybe if your batch is lucky, you may get some companies like coca-cola)

Foodies usually get general IT jobs like Infosys, Accenture etc.

Usually chemical group gets some core companies like Reliance, ITC, Reddys Labs, etc.

Placements aren't so great but, you'll enjoy your college life there for sure, far better than any private colleges in Telanagana.
