Honestly yes , but never judge a book by its cover. In every college you will find some bad elements that does not mean that whole college is like them.

As drugs are easily available in punjab ,student also get it easily but you will find only 1 to 2 percent students like this.

On a serious note, there is enough security in each hostel and anywhere else required throughout campus to keep check on such things. Authorities are strict regarding such issues including Anti-alcohol, Anti-drug affidavits which now need to be submitted on admission. But people sometimes do find ways to sneek in such stuff, but only until they are caught.

So it's all on you what you do there ,no one will force you to do so and trust me if you are good then you will get freinds like you only in campus .

faculty says that there are anti-drug policies and they make students give an affidavit also but, drugs has taken over Thapar in the same way as it has taken over the rest of Punjab. There is no security check or any regular checking of rooms. Slowly and slowly even those students get involved in drugs who dont usually do them. (because of friendship with seniors who are taking drugs)

People may say that no, drugs are not a such problem in Thapar and also the authority is taking good measures to ensure that no drugs are consumed ,its all lie and fake promises. Even the authority knows that this is going on in their campus and are just unable to control it.
