The Physics department of BITS Pilani provides theoretical aspects of knowledge of optics,spectroscopy,image processing,etc fo r thebenefit of the students.Along with the college the deoartment of physcis has emerged over the years.The department has also got funding and approval for development of the labs and also new instruments.

Now placements depend upon various factors apart from the reputation college.Majority of the weightage of the placement depends upon the overall record of the candidates.Some of the things which cna be done are as follows:-

• Professor in a reputed university/college(after clearing the required entrance exam)
• Physicist
• Research in Physics after Masters
• Job in the Research and Development department of a company.
• Research Scientist

We understand your concerns. Msc in physics is a great course if you are aspiring for career opportunities in the field of research and education. Most of the students undergoing this 5 year course indulge in research and explorations as scientists, as there is a wide scope in such activities. You shall be eligible for admissions in a great Phd institute, especially if are given a recommendation letter from a professor there  or you shall get involved in the R&d sector of a company.

Hi Shini,

As such there are no high paying jobs only after doing MSc Physics at BITS. Placement is on the basis of B.E degree that you get. If you want decent-paying job solely on the basis of science, you'll have to go in research related fields.

I think you've not got the concept of Dual at BITS Pilani. After first year on the basis of CGPA dualities are allotted B.E branches. If you want I can give you the CG cutoffs of each branch.
