The seats have been increased for this year. There are 360 seats in UILS this year out of which 180 are for general category. Earlier there were 120 seats for BA LLB In Chandigarh and 120 seats for BCOM LLB in Chandigarh, which with the approval of the Bar council of India have been increased to 180 seats for each course. Considering that your rank is 283, chances in Chandigarh campus are a little less.  Though your chances are not impossible. Usually there are 7-10 subsequent rounds of counselling according to vacant seats each year. So you might have a chance then. But again it can't be said for sure as you seem to be on the border line.
