Hii

With your son's WBJEE EWS rank of 3,259, getting government college for B.Tech CSE is likely to be difficult but not impossible for sure. Some top colleges such like Jadavpur University are out of reach and also most of the government colleges have last round EWS closing rank around 3,000 to 3,500, so he have chances to get a seat in government college but in a lower tier if vacancies remain. And about his general rank that is too high for general seats it means there are nil chances to get seat through general rank of him.

Hello,

With a WBJEE general rank of 91289 and EWS rank of 3259, you cannot get CSE in any government engineering college .

The cut-offs for CSE in government colleges close at much better ranks. You may try for private colleges or choose other branches where cut-offs are comparatively lower.

Hope it helps !

With EWS rank 3,259, there’s no realistic chance of a seat in Computer Science in a government engineering college through WBJEE, but you may find options in private colleges and should explore other branches if considering government institutes.

Hey:)

Thanks for reaching out!

With a general rank of 91,289,your son cannot get CSE in any government colleges through WBJEE.But since he has an EWS rank of 3,259 he still has a chance in some of the mid of lower-tier government colleges .For example, University of Kalyani,Aliya University have taken EWS ranks around that range in recent years. However,Top colleges like Jadavpur or KGEC won't be possible. So,if he is a West Bengal domicile,he should definitely use the EWS quota, keep his preferences wide and target the mid-tier government colleges, where his rank has a realistic chance.
