With a WBJEE General Rank of ~50,000 and OBC-B Rank ~5,000, getting Heritage Institute of Technology (HITK), Kolkata is very tough. Heritage usually closes its OBC-B ranks within 1,000–2,000 for popular branches (CSE, IT, ECE). Even for lower-demand branches like Civil, Electrical, or Chemical, OBC-B cutoff is usually below 3,500–4,000. At 5,000 OBC-B rank, your chances at Heritage are very low, but you may get other good private colleges under WBJEE counseling.

Hii

With your rank in WBJEE chances of getting any good government college is very low. But still it depends on the branch or course you choose to pursue. If you choose some competitive courses than admission possibility is low but on the same side if you pursue low demanding course than you can get a government college with your rank.

Still you can check the previous year cutoff in different branches because cutoff for 2025 is assumed to be similar or around the same cutoff. https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/wbjee-2024

Hello!

So with your general rank and OBC rank in WBJEE getting admission into Heritage Institute of Technology depends mainly on branch prefrence and available seats. Getting branches like CSE, ECE or IT is not possible for you because there cutt offs closed around 1,000-2,000 OBC rank. You can try in other branches like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical. The Cutoffs of these branches are usually lower.  so you might get admission. Also keep your backup college options ready for safer side.

With a WBJEE general rank of 50,000 and OBC rank of 5,000, it will be quite difficult to get a seat in Heritage Institute of Technology in core branches like CSE, IT, or ECE, as the cutoffs for these courses are usually much higher. However, you may have some chances in lower demand branches such as Electrical, Civil, or Biotechnology depending on the availability of seats and the round of counselling. It is better to keep Heritage as an option but also apply for other private colleges in Kolkata where the cutoff is slightly lower.

Hello

With a WBJEE general rank of 50,000 and an OBC rank of 5,000, getting CSE or IT at Heritage Institute is unlikely. These top branches usually close under 2,000–3,000, even in reserved categories. However, you may have a chance in lower-demand branches like ECE or Civil. It depends on the year’s cutoff, so check the official counseling portal during the seat allotment process. You can also consider similar private colleges with slightly higher cutoff flexibility.
