Since the entrance examination is based on the 11th and 12th standard syllabus of CBSE, NCERT books are seen as the perfect reference for studies. Studying NCERT is enough to qualify JEE Main.Since NCERT books cover all of the topics which are included in the official syllabus of JEE Main, you can use that for preparation. There are other standard reference books as well. I've seen many students who crack jee mains with state syllabus, they keep their basics clear, practice alot.
If you are in 11th standard use ncert syllabus books for reference, it'll be easy for you at the time of exams. If any topic is completed in your board syllabus refer to same topic from ncert.
If you're board syllabus is clear you can go for ncert books. If you join any coaching classes it'll also a good options as they provide all the material according to syllabus and updated one.
If you want to join top IITs or IIST colleges your rank should be in top. Join any academy or if you want to self study refer good books. Practice mcqs mock tests.
Hope it helps.. Best luck!!
