As we know that the older IIMs have more value than the newer established ones. So , directly answering your questions, I must tell you that IIM Calcutta is much better than IIM Sambalpur.

The chances of getting good placement is high in IIM calcutta so i will suggest you that you should go for IIM calcutta

Hi. IIM Kolkata is ranked third in all over Idia. IIM Kolkata fees is high compared to IIM Sambalpur which is 21 lakhs and 10 lakhs respectively. Cutoff of both the IIMS is 90%tile and the final selection is based on WAT and PI. The average annual package for IIM Kolkata is 15 lakhs while Sambalpur is 10 lakhs. Accenture, Amazon, Coca-cola, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Yes Bank are some of the companies that offer placements in IIM Kolkata. Accenture, Bank of India, UCO Bank, SBI, IDBI bank are some of the comapnies that offer placements in IIM Sambalpur. 

In my opinion, you should go for IIM kolkata.
