IIM Shillong Admission Process

IIM Shillong admissions are offered to MBA, MBA Working Executives, Post Graduate Programme for Executives, Ph.D, Ph.D Working Professionals programmes. Indian Institute of Management Shillong conducts the Executive Assessment Centre (EAC) phase for MBA Working Executive admission. IIM Shillong MBA admission is based on CAT scores followed by group discussions and personal interviews conducted by the institute.

Candidates' performance in the GRE/GMAT/GATE/CAT/XAT or PGPWE Entrance Exam is considered for IIM Shillong Ph.D admission. When the results are released, aspirants must complete the IIM Shillong application form for the desired programme.

PGP Ex	Candidates must appear for GMAT/CAT examination. Apply for the PGP Ex programme through the application form released on the official website of IIM Shillong. Fill in the application form with the academic and professional details required. Pay the application fees of Rs 3,000 and submit the application form. The list of selected candidates will be released by IIM Shillong.
PGP WE	Candidates must appear for GMAT/CAT examination, while who do not have valid score in GMAT/CAT can appear for WE-MAT examination. Apply for the PGP Ex programme through the application form released on the official website of IIM Shillong. Fill in the application form with the academic and professional details required. Pay the application fees of Rs 3,000 and submit the application form. The list of selected candidates will be released by IIM Shillong.
Ph.D	Candidates must appear for GMAT/GRE/CAT/GATE/UGC-CSIR NET examination. While candidates who have appeared for a minimum 2-year PGDM from any other IIM are exempted from giving entrance examination. While applying for the Ph.D programme candidates must appear for a tentative research proposal. Select for 3 cities in order of preference where they want to propose the research. Upload the documents required and pay the application fees.

IIM Shillong MBA Admissions 2025

180 seats are available for MBA admission at IIM Shillong. CAT scores are used by IIM Shillong to screen MBA candidates. For each of the three categories, the CAT sectional percentile was 75.

Eligibility Criteria for admission in IIM Shillong-

A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% in any subject for applicants under the general category.
For eligibility, applicants from the SC, ST, DA, and PwD groups must receive a minimum bachelor's grade point average of 45%.
While overseas candidates must submit GMAT scores, Indian applicants must provide CAT scores.

Well, it seems that you have a good profile.

Though academics is not the only things considered in an IIM. You need to have Extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities. Also a good diverse profile is a plus point in any good B-school.

What is the eligibility criteria for the post of assistant professor of MBA in IIM and how can I apply for it?

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

Ph.D. or equivalent in relevant field with first class or similar qualification is the bare minimum requirement for all faculty jobs (in terms of grades, etc.). Applicants must have received a first-class or 60 percent on their master's degree or equivalent qualifying examinations, as well as a very strong academic record throughout their undergraduate and graduate studies.

In addition, for the following reasons:

Having a minimum of ten years of teaching/research/industrial experience, of which at least four years should have been at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai, and IISERs, or at an equivalent level in any other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards, is required for the position of Professor.

As an Associate Professor, you must have a minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 3 of those years being at the Assistant Professor or equivalent level.

Assistant Professor: A minimum of three years of teaching, research, or industry experience is required for this position (excluding however the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D). Candidates who have received their Ph.D. from prestigious institutions, on the other hand, may be exempt from the three-year work experience requirement on a case-by-case basis, depending on their academic qualifications. Candidates may be given a one-year contract job as a Visiting Assistant Professor or a Lecturer position based on their qualifications and experience.
