The oldest technical institute of North East India not only emphasises on education but also on almost every other co curriculars. Yes, the labs and infrastructure is not in par with central and private colleges, and you have to put effort a little more of your own for some better results, but you get to learn a lot. Hostel life in Assam Engineering College is one of the best things I've experienced in my entire life. You'll get to learn and experience so much, about almost every little thing, and learn to tackle every little problem​, organise events and be a leader. Four years here would be definitely incomplete without the experience of a college hostel. For the boys, there is no restrictions, which is a good thing, and bad as well. You must know how to utilise it.

With an admission fee less than Rs. 10,000 and hostel fee of Rs. 2000 a month, this place's cost of living is too less.

AEC is active, culturally, academically and in sports as well. We have some great musicians, dancers, actors and sportspersons here.

All the hostels are WiFi enabled with no usage limit at all.
