Hi dear
To get into NITs you need to score 75% in your boards if you are from general category and about 65% if you are from sc/st or else you need to be in the top 20 percentile.

The closing ranks for Nit Nagaland for 2018 were as follows:

Civil engineering -42756
Cse - 26722
Eee- 41870
Ece - 33818
Electronic and instrumentation engineering-41524
Mechanical engineering - 39625

So you do not fulfill the board percentage criteria and for the jee mains criteria you may match your rank with the above mentioned cut off trends.

I'm allotted for nit Nagaland under ST category but my 12th marks doesn't reach the criteria.Is there any chance where they will reduce the cutoff of 12th percentage?

As per NTA norms, Candidates need to have secured a minimum 75% marks in class XII or equivalent exam or be in the top 20 percentile in their class XII exam conducted by the respective board. For SC/ ST candidates, the eligibility criteria are to secure 65% marks in class XII or equivalent exam.So if you are from general category then you are not eligible for counselling. You may go for private colleges.
