first and the best this college provides is internet speed. i guess it has the best internet speed compared to other colleges which i have visited apart from that all other categories need lots of improvement mainly the academic section and administration need to improved..it should take any decisions soon n worthfull.here comes the main problem is mess even dogs hesitate to eat this kind of food which they serve if we go to complain about this food in return we get lecture from administration after all if we complain about anything regarding we come to here one common words "this is nagaland" as if it's combodia are any kind of desert where we cannot find anything.even though we pay more money compared to other nits we dont get worth money food.placement are ok but not great n faulty as well not so great n not even worse....if u need a degree and a need to prepare for anyother exams u can choose this college...

It is one of the 10 NITS started by MHRD, India and it is the only NIT working its new permanent campus(among new NITS). The current infrastructure facility is very nice and growing very rapidly as the most of the construction works is at final level. Currently it has all the labs functioning nicely inside the campus. Lab facilities is on of the gem of this NIT. For the industry exposure and internship it has tie-up with various institution plus it college supports you for forwarding your internship application. Now comes the important part placement, for the current year placement is superb plus you could see most the top private and public sector are coming in this campus and recruiting us. Now comes the hostel and mess facilities, hostels are nice and well maintained with the facility of pure drinking water, geyser and 24 hour electricity, 24 hours high speed WI-FI but mess facility is the one which has some issues and for that management is taking action. The location of this NIT is superb, at a hill in the lap of nature you will see the utmost beauty of the nature. Facilities of the institute are young, dedicated and hard working expect 1 or 2. They will consider your doubts and will surely help to clear your doubt. College have regular activities going plus we have one of the biggest TECHNO-CULTURAL FEST "EKARIKTHIN" every year which is purely awesome.

The crowd here is quite decent; of course, there’s a majority of people from North East India, but you can safely say that people from all over the country come her. The Boy/Girl ratio is roughly 3:1, which is really not bad for an engineering college in a somewhat remote area. Many students are actively involved in sports and other extra-curricular. One thing to be noted is that ragging is strictly prohibited here, and anyone found to be indulging in it is in for some serious trouble. The mess food is more than edible and is often tasty, in spite of being healthy. And that’s a good thing, since there’s really nothing to do if you are to venture outside the campus.

The best experience as a Student, you can learn a lot from here, a place where you would feel you are free to express your ideas and incubate them to make it a grand success. Literally, this college has the Best Laboratory setup among all the other colleges of India, and even the Education is Practical oriented making Engineering a live experience, rather than cramming for marks, here we experience it and never forget. Even the faculty are such wonderful guides to us, helping us to choose the right way and correct our mistakes whenever needed, and for the JEE aspirant, I would proudly suggest, my College NIT Nagaland.

It's a new establishment so not very good at infrastructure. Placement ratio is gradually increasing every year. Faculty is ok only but cooperative and supporting. Students are no doubt gems. Still 3-4 years to come before its rated to good and not average.

Sir iam very poor in maths atleast i dont know proper basis but i got EIE branch in nit nagaland without maths how can i pass out sirplz hlp

Sumit Gaur Student Expert 7th Aug, 2019

Hello

Dont worry there is always scope for improvement engineering maths is a bit complex but it isnt as tough as it is said the mathematics in engineering would be more of application than just solving problems. You can apply this mathematics in your domains, for example laplace is used to solve complex problems.

There is mathematics in every fied of engineering such as computer science plus the mathematics is going to be there only for three semesters not eight semesters.

Hope it helps.

Hi this is rahul i got seat in nit Nagaland course is mechanical engineering but in nit Nagaland there no workshop for mechanical engineer

Dipesh Mann 7th Sep, 2019

Hi Rahul,

I think you should discuss this query with the Professors and HODs at your college as they will be able to guide you better.

Although on their site which is : https://nitnagaland.ac.in/index.php/departments/mechanical-engineering

they, have explicitly mentioned that they have workshops for Mechanical Engineers.

How is mechanical engineering in NIT Nagaland

Bhaskar Nakkina Student Expert 29th Jul, 2019

Hii,

Currently National institute of Technology Nagaland is one of the best NIT's. Speaking about the placements , the College has excellent placement record with IT Companies are the Major recruitment. Mechanical Engineering is also good. But there is no doubt about the placements for CS,IT and ECE students. Even they recruit Mechanical students too. No great opportunities for Mechanical stream.

This is rahul i got seat in nit Nagaland course is mechanical engineering in mechanical engineering any software choices is there?

Prince Student Expert 29th Jul, 2019

Hey Aspirant,

I don't think so that you will have any software or computer course attached with Mechanical branch.as mechanical and computer engineering are totally 2 different things. But if you perform well in 1st year you can change your stream in 2nd year. Otherwise you can take certification in computer course outside while pursuing Mechanical Engineering.

Best of luck
