The written exam is of 3 hours duration. It consisted of 3 section; General Aptittude & Computer Programming, Mathematics & the GATE syllabus of EC. the questions are MCQs and numerical type.

If you are selected for RA written test, I would advise you to revise all the GATE syllabus. Also you should have basic knowledge of programming in C, C++ and Linux.
