His chances of getting admission in IPU through JEE MAINS are decent, according to his rank he must surely have cleared the exam for Advanced. Now, IPU has a decent to difficult cutoff through JEE MAINS, so can't really be said. It depends on the branch of your choice too. Hope you are also doing the josaa counselling . I apologize you may not get any college on this rank if you are non-delhite (Closing rank is generally close to 60k) but if you are delhite then you have great chances to enter ipu (Closing rank is generally close to 1lac).
