OK ! So here is the thing .. There is No correct way to Answer this question !

As it varies from year to year ! When the 2016 batch passed outplacement was okish ! Avg - 5–8 LPA , Highest - 17–20 LPA , Lowest - Mass Recruiter Scale !

One of the issues back then ( As if very Long ago ! ) was the ECE core sector companies were not coming , See most of the above Packages were offered by IT sector companies !

If you wish to classify further : On the VLSI / Embedded / PCB ( So called Electronics) side they had only 2 (Cdot ,Sankalp)and rest were mostly communication Side related !

The Highest Package offered in Core was by CDOT (9 LPA) Now I believe This has gone upto 11–12 LPA ! after 7th CPC!

Now the said situation is improving in Last yr and a half ! As we can See big players like Qualcomm , TI , NXP visiting the campus for recruitment ! 

All in all the future of ECE in NIT D looks bright ! both in Core and IT , So as a result we can expect a growth in the Avg Packages also ! Say a 8–10 LPA or Beyond Perhaps!

There is no pattern in the hiring for the ECE students at NIT Durgapur. It varies every year. The minimum package offered here is oviously by the mass recruiters, which is around 3.5lpa. The highest package offered is around 15lpa. Apart from the mass recruiters most of the students get some offers which are above 5lpa. So the average must be around 6.5lpa.
