For getting IIT kanpur you need to have pretty good percentile.

The trades are selected as per  the marks.

There are various rank for the individual categories. As per the last year cut offs we can see that 1) for general category the opening rank is 128 and closing rank is 181

2) For EWD(pws)  opening and closing rank is same 6P

3) For obc- ncl category the opening and closing rank is in between  550 to 800.

But all the ranks and cut offs are varries in every year.
