The major difference have been plotted out in terms of curriculum:--

IT- Major subjects into Web development, Management Information system, Ethical Hacking, Language scripting, Big data Analysis, Predictive Analytics, Database management, Cloud computing.


CSE- Hardware Routing, Network Manangement, Networking Analytics, Artificial intelligence, Hardware coupling, Microprocessor, Chip Designing, Artificial intelligence, etc.

As we can infer IT is majorly specific to applications of Information Technology across industry.

Whereas CSE is more inclined towards hardware and software integration and its cross domain use cases.
