No,there are no disadvantages for choosing BAMS rather then MBBS.
But BAMS has less value when compared to MBBS.
MBBS is highly valued course it's  a tough course and has limited number of seats.

Even BAMS has many benefits that makes worthy for doing.

Not every one choose MBBS because it has much Value, it's based on individual interest.
If you are willing to go for BAMS go for it, even it has a greater career.

In India fees structure for doing BAMS will be varied From Institute to Institute and state to state.

Fee will be around 50 to 70k Considering the Institute it will be higher or equal to it.
It may rise to 6 to 7 lakhs including all the examination, books, hostel charges.
