I have the same question. I'm also a private candidate. I recently checked my admit card and in the subjects it's showing Computer Science (new) with sub code 083 but as per CBSE the new CS with sub code 083 has Python in syllabus whereas I studied C++ in 12th. Now what do I do?

Can someone please tell me if it's CBSE's printing mistake or I committed some mistake while filling the improvement exam, although as much I remember there was no option to select between new or old CS while filling improvement exam form. There was just one CS with sub code 083.

Also other private candidates who took CS and at facing the same problem or have any info about it please let me know asap.

I just returned from the CBSE regional office. Anyone facing the same problem please head to the nearest regional office AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. CBSE is too careless and ignorant to reach out to any of the students even though it's their mistake.

Anyone reading this, having the same problem, PLEASE GO TO YOUR NEAREST REGIONAL OFFICE AND GET YOUR SUBJECT CODE CHANGED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (or you may have to give the Computer Science Python exam instead of C++). The guy at the regional office said that they're only accepting subject change requests till 7th February, 2020.

The procedure for subject change is simple and small, you just need to write an application requesting CS subject change from 083 to 283 (make sure you keep a zerox of that application you write and take the zerox to the RO too for receiving confirmation) and attach that application to a print out of your admit card and submit to the regional office (you would be told about the other details in the regional office itself).

I know for many of us it's not possible to leave for the regional office immediately as there are very less ROs and students live in different cities but this needs to be done asap or there can be consequences (don't mean to scare anyone but it's real).

No, this year specially for private candidates, there will be option. See cbse curriculum website. You will find 2 CS. New and old

New contains Python, Old one contains our beloved C++.

Ihave confirmed from my Cs teacher that paper will contains options for both type of srudents so nothing to worry about.

I am just worried about practical as cbse said private candidates must give practical this year.

Dear Ankit, after CBSE has changed its syllabus and examimation pattern, Computer Science has been changed as follows:

• Functions: scope, parameter passing, mutable/immutable properties of data objects, pass arrays to functions, return values, functions using libraries: mathematical, and string functions.
• File handling: open and close a file, read, write, and append to a file, standard input, output, and error streams, relative and absolute paths.
• Using Python libraries: create and import Python libraries
• Recursion: simple algorithms with recursion: factorial, Fibonacci numbers; recursion on arrays: binary search
• Idea of efficiency: performance defined as inversely proportional to the wall clock time, count the number of operations a piece of code is performing, and measure the time taken by a program. Example: take two different programs for the same problem, and understand how the efficient one takes less time.
• Data visualization using Pyplot: line chart, pie chart, and bar chart.
